1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the TallyPe mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TallyPe (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

2. User Accounts

To use TallyPe, you must sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Expense Data

TallyPe allows you to log, categorize, and analyze personal expenses. All expense data you enter is your own. We do not verify the accuracy of expense entries. You are solely responsible for the data you input into the App. We store your expense data securely on our servers to provide the service, and you retain ownership of your data at all times.

4. Group Features

TallyPe enables you to create groups, add members, and split expenses among group members. By using group features, you acknowledge that:

  • Group names, expense descriptions, and notes are user-generated content.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that content you share in groups does not violate any laws or these Terms.
  • Expense splits and settlement calculations are provided as a convenience tool. TallyPe does not guarantee the accuracy of split calculations and is not a party to any financial arrangement between group members.
  • Groups support up to 10 members. Split methods include equal, exact amount, and percentage-based splits.
  • Settlement records are for informational purposes only and do not constitute proof of payment.

5. Payments & UPI

TallyPe provides the ability to initiate UPI payments through deep-links to third-party payment applications, including PhonePe, Google Pay, and CRED. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • TallyPe is NOT a payment processor. The App merely redirects you to third-party UPI applications to complete payments.
  • All payment transactions are processed entirely by the respective third-party payment applications (PhonePe, Google Pay, CRED). TallyPe has no access to your bank account details, PINs, or transaction passwords.
  • TallyPe bears absolutely no responsibility for payment failures, incorrect transactions, disputed payments, delays, or any financial loss arising from UPI transactions.
  • Any disputes regarding payments must be resolved directly with the respective payment application provider or your bank.
  • The QR code scanner feature is provided for convenience to capture UPI payment details. We are not responsible for errors resulting from QR code scanning.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, graphics, logos, and content (excluding user-generated content), is the intellectual property of TallyPe and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's reliability, availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. City benchmarking data is based on estimates and averages and should not be considered financial advice. The App is a personal finance tracking tool and does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TallyPe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses arising from the use or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the App (if any).

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may also delete your account and data at any time through the App settings.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
